The joy is short-lived. It is discovered that the fertilized egg belongs to another couple. Kanako, who is hoping to give birth, asks “Can’t we raise the baby even though not blood-related?” Junpei, who has a past of being adopted himself, snaps back, saying “It’s not that easy!” There is myriad of feelings between Kanako, Junpei, Junpei’s adoptive mother, the true father and mother of the fertilized egg, and the doctor who cooperates with childbirth.
